Our band is devoted to serving the Greater Boston Area fire departments at Line of Duty Death funerals, memorial services, ceremonies, banquets, parades, and other fire service functions. The majority of the band members are paid professional firefighters from Boston area fire departments. Many of us played for many years with the Boston Gaelic Fire Brigade Pipes and Drums Band, but due to management issues we decided to form our own band. We formed the band in late 2007 with about 50 active members. The band meets weekly for lessons and practice at the McKeon Amvets Post in Dorchester. We were well received at our inaugural event, the Malden Holiday Parade. Since then we have performed at Maynard Christmas Parade, Fanueil Hall St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah, Georgia where we were awarded the pleasure of leading and piping for the Adjutants Staff of the parade. Unfortunately, we have also had several recent LODD funerals that we were very honored to play for.
